Obama-Care Won't Bring Lower Overhead
Deloitte has published a synopsis of facets of the health reform package known as the 'Affordable' Care Act or Obama-Care (find it here). Having reviewed the excerpt about administrative simplification, I find no evidence of any real administrative savings. There is a reason for this. Obama-care depends upon the health insurance business model, and therefore, depends upon the administrative complexity of the American health insurance business model. A savings of about $400 billion/ year could be realized by eliminating this business model, which is the most wasteful and expensive way to finance health care in the world.
